The Challenge
Reported concerns regarding support beneath sliding-door thresholds had produced differing remedial proposals and widely varying contractor tenders. Further physical evidence was required before a defensible scope and cost position could be established.

What GIR Did
GIR Group completed a desktop and non-intrusive condition review, assessed the available architectural and structural information and reviewed the proposed remedial approaches.
GIR then developed a targeted Stage 2 investigation involving controlled opening-up and structural-engineer inspection at a pilot location.

Outcome to Date
Stage 1 established a controlled route from conflicting proposals to evidence-led investigation. Stage 2 has been authorised and is being coordinated, with the final scope and cost position remaining subject to its findings.
This summary reflects the current stage of GIR Group's appointment and does not constitute a final determination of causation, liability, insurance coverage, remedial scope or cost.
